Remembering Our Humane Hero: Ron Marullo

Ron Marullo was a Humane Hero and game changer for Texas Humane Heroes. He made the transition from the corporate world to non-profit in 2010 becoming the Executive Director of the organization. He used his extensive business knowledge to bring fresh ideas and strategies to the organization. Through his leadership, over 15,000 dogs and cats were adopted into loving homes.

Kristen Huguley, Executive Director, spent three years working closely with Ron on executing the vision and mission of the organization. “Ron was my mentor and friend. When he offered me a position at Texas Humane Heroes, it was his enthusiasm and drive that motivated me to make the career change. I wanted to work with him and watch our organization soar. I wanted to make a difference, and I knew he wanted to as well. He cared not only about the organization, but also my professional development. He provided me with opportunities to grow and was genuinely excited when those led to success. His guidance and support will forever stay with me. I already greatly miss his presence at Texas Humane Heroes.”

Ron wanted to leave a legacy at Texas Humane Heroes, and we’re certain that he did. We’ll deeply miss his insight, guidance and passion for the mission. We know that he’s smiling down with high hopes and confidence in the future that he helped create.

There will be a celebration of Ron’s life on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park, TX at 3:30 pm. Click here for more information or to sign his guestbook.
