The Dogmom Diary: The Moments That Make You Pause

Over the last few weeks, life got a little hectic. You know how it is…when one thing changes, so does everything else!

My boyfriend (Boomer) and I are entrepreneurs and business has been busy but good! What does this mean for life? Well…a lot of sleepless nights. And to top things off, we had a somewhat unexpected guest join us in our home. Needless to say, we had some adjusting to do.

In the middle of this all, Bruiser changed some of his sleeping habits a bit. In our new house, he has enjoyed sleeping in his makeshift bed on my side of our bed. It’s a super soft blue blanket that he can cuddle up in. It’s kind of adorable…

As I mentioned, this changed. One morning at 4 a.m., when Boomer and I were finally deep in sleep, we heard…tap tap tap tap. Still groggy, we figured out it was the sound of Bruiser walking around our bed.

Out of habit, I looked down and expecting Bruiser to be waiting for me to pick him up and put him in the bed. He does that from time-to-time, but that wasn’t the case this time around. I was not the target.

We then heard scratching on the side of the bed and a little whimpering (he is so pathetic sometimes). We both know he can jump on the bed, but he just had to be picked up. His target was Boomer.

This happened steady for a few weeks and luckily I caught this picture of my two guys cuddling.

This morning moment forced me to pause and soak it all in. Both Boomer and I would start our day with so much love. It’s so amazing what animals can do for you.
