Hi, my name is Nancy! Yes, you might know me from past posts. For those of you who do not know me, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my journey. I am 3 years old and I have had a tough start in life. My sister Crystal and I were saved from a hoarding case last September. When I first got to Texas Humane Heroes, I was scared and I did not trust anyone. I would stay tucked away up high where I felt safe. However, there are a couple things that can always get me to come down…the sound of a can of wet food cracking open or the crinkling of a treat bag help me forget how nervous I can be. They call me “food motivated” but that yummy food makes me feel cared for and loved. At Texas Humane Heroes they make me feel very loved – so loved, that it’s amazing I’m able to keep my girlish figure! If you are one of the few that have read my biography in the past, you may remember that I get along well with other cats.
My friends at TXHH tell me that I have made great progress coming out of my shell. Yes, you can still find me up high on a cat tree or sitting on a window ledge, but I am much more social than I used to be. I am now comfortable enough to greet you when you walk through the door and I love getting a nice pat or scratch behind the ears. Granted, I’m still uncomfortable when I’m picked up and grabbed, but what can I say – I’m a work in progress! Since I do get frightened easily, I prefer older kids or calm little ones that understand that you need to go slow with me. While I still get a little nervous, especially with new people, I am much more open now to give it my best and learn to trust.
I am ready to be part of a loving and patient family! Please visit me today and I might just be the perfect match!
