Adventures of Chloe and Oscar: Working at Home When You Have Cats

This week’s post is going to be a little shorter than the others, so hopefully the cute pictures make up for that.

Working from home when you have cats can get really interesting. My cats are either indifferent to me being here or literally attached to my hip. There is no in-between.

I’ve also learned that cats have some sort of hidden computer radar. If there is a computer they can sit by, touch, or try to sit on, they will take full advantage of that. There have been quite a few times where Chloe or Oscar will try to claim a laptop as their own. They will clear their schedule of napping, grooming, and bird stalking/reconnaissance.

Both of them have been escorted out of my room for their

workplace interference. They have also lost their privilege to sit in on conference calls because they think it’s an excellent time to sing the song of their people. Chloe especially likes to do this in addition to making her rounds in my room and finding things to knock off a dresser. There is also her fascination with attacking the printer when I’m trying to use it. I don’t think I’ve come across another cat with a vendetta against printers.

Needless to say, my cats will not be winning any awards for their help, but they are super cute so it’s okay. Do your pets have any unique ways of helping you with work or projects?
