Sushi is a sweet, sweet boy who just wants to be your best friend, especially if you enjoy belly rubs as much as he does. He loves to be next to you wherever you go and is always concerned and interested in what you are doing. He loves soft, fluffy things like pillows and blankets and snuggling up for some TV time. He’s active but not hyper. Sushi is very gentle and great with kids and other dogs. He would probably not do well with cats.
Sushi loves to be by your side at all times. He likes to take walks, play fetch, chew bones and work on his obedience training. He has lots of energy and stamina so he’d make a great running partner! Snuggling is always fun and neck and belly rubs are THE BEST! He will literally melt into a puddle at your feet when you pet him, until he’s in the perfect position for belly rubs. He makes excellent eye contact when you talk to him and if you look hard, you can see the gears turning while he tries to figure out what you are saying.
Sushi is excellent on the leash and he and his foster are working on recall when he’s off leash (only in fenced areas at this time). He is currently in obedience class and is doing well with sit/stay and down. He doesn’t do well on car rides, but he does love to go places. This would be something to work on with him. He really enjoys working for you, whether it is waiting for his food or staying in place. He’s a sensitive dog so it doesn’t take much to correct his behavior. He’s house-trained and crate-trained. He prefers to sleep in his crate at night with the door open instead of in bed.
