Ready Fur Love: Paula Parentiss’ Love Letter

February 16, 2017

Dear New Human,

Ten months ago I came to Texas Humane Heroes, not really knowing what for. I was told to find a family. “What the heck is a family,” I thought. I’ve been on my own for so long, I was starting to forget. Now that I’ve met lots of people and felines and learning all about this “family” business, I think I would like one of my own. So let’s make this happen.

I’m very smart and motivated to learn new things. And by motivation, I mean being given treats as a reward. I love food. You may have even seen a video of me learning to sit ( http://bit.ly/2ld1Xtl ). Well, just so you know, since then I’ve also learned how to give a ‘high five’. It seems to give you humans a thrill and if it means getting some snacks, I will do it all day. I don’t see any other cat putting that much effort into making you happy!

Since being here, I made a friend. You may know her because she’s been here just as long as I have. Her name is June Bug. We are pretty similar in the sense that we like our alone time. Some people call us the “Mean Girl” group because we are very strict with which other cats can hang out with us. If we don’t like you, you’re out. Others have compared us to two old ladies, which makes June Bug mad since she’s only two, and that makes me laugh. Heh heh! I will say that comparison is pretty accurate. We may criticise one another and get in little arguments, but when it comes down to it, we are pretty compatible.

If you’re looking for a laidback pet who doesn’t need all the attention, I’m your gal. I will say that having June around would be kinda nice. Even if she can be a grumpy old lady sometimes. I think you will be happy with the two of us. Of course, if only one pet has space in your home, than I’m the better choice. Not June Bug.

I’m really hoping I can find a home before being here a full 365 days, so hurry up! What’s taking you so long?
