Melissa is one of our most involved volunteers. Not only does she help us plan events like Pints & Paws but she is also a member of our grants committee. Melissa has been volunteering for four years now! She’s dedicated so much of her time to helping our animals find their forever homes. Two of which, both a cat (Kahlua) and dog (Oreo), found their forever home with Melissa herself!
We know we enjoy having Melissa here at Texas Humane Heroes and that the feeling is mutual. Melissa’s favorite part of volunteering for us is planning and setting up events. She enjoys the fun that events bring along with the monetary donations raised that Texas Humane Heroes needs to continue saving lives. Our Chili Cookoff is her favorite event of the year!
During her years volunteering, Melissa has learned more about nonprofits and how hardworking staff members are. Melissa has been helping us long enough to see the results and benefits of her own hard work. Through volunteering Melissa has gained knowledge that she now uses to better help Texas Humane Heroes save more lives.
In her personal life Melissa has been busy planning and enjoying her wedding. Join us in congratulating the newlywed! Now Melissa can spend some of her time enjoying her favorite hobbies. Crafting cards and scrapbooks is Melissa’s go to pastime. As of lately she’s enjoyed improving her culinary skills.
Melissa helps us out by volunteering for behind the scene tasks where she might not receive the recognition she much deserves. As this week’s Pack Pride, we hope to share Melissa’s contributions to Texas Humane Heroes.
