Halee Jorgensen is a college student from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor who has dedicated a lot of her time off from school here at Texas Humane Heroes. During summers and holiday breaks, Halee has been here as staff working on the Adoptions Team. This summer she interned here at Texas Humane Heroes, but switched it up and worked in the Marketing and Development Department.
Halee is extremely hard working and is a natural photographer. She always had great photos of all of our pets and creative ideas of how to incorporate them together. She created all posts from videos highlighting a certain pet, to graphics, to photo albums. She helped plan and execute our Dog Days of Summer event, which took place in July. She is also great with animals. She knew every animal by name, even the kittens that all look identical. She has a superb memory and can recall a conversation or idea from weeks ago. “Having her in the office this summer has been the best. She truly never stops working hard and is always willing to go the extra mile. We’re all sad she is leaving,” Marissia, one of her co-workers that worked with her to plan Dog Days, says.
Another thing about Halee that was really evident this summer is her love for baking. She was constantly bringing the whole team homemade treats like macaroons, energy balls, cookies, cinnamon bread, and much more. She even once made all the dogs homemade peanut butter ‘pupcakes’. She truly enjoys trying new recipes and the staff and pets would gladly try everything she brought in. She’s a huge fan of Farmers Markets, recycling, and photography. At home she has one dog named Mika. Her favorite dog here at Texas Humane Heroes is Elvis, and favorite cat is Andy.
This week, Halee concluded her internship and returned back to school for her senior year. Thank you Halee for everything you’ve done here at Texas Humane Heroes to impact the lives of many people and many, many animals.
