Welcome to Pack Pride! This week we are bringing you a fantastic duo– the Newcombe’s!
Jen and Gregg Newcombe are incredible volunteers here at our Leander Adoption Center. These two are like honorary staff! They come weekly to help our team with all the aspects of the job – not just the fun parts but the messy parts too. They’re here just as early as staff and get to work immediately with our daily kennel cleanings and feedings. They also help out our Hero Town team on the weekends at PetSmart. They are even being trained to start approving and processing adoptions themselves!
“They’re some of the most dedicated people I’ve ever met,” says our Adoption Counselor, Monica.
Their personal favorite pets here at Texas Humane Heroes have been Toby and Regan, who have since been adopted
Jen and Gregg have been married for almost 33 years now and have lived in a handful of places. They’ve been in the great state of Texas since 2012 and have loved it. They personally enjoy seeing the Bluebonnets in the spring time, eating endless great Mexican food, and getting a slice of Banana Cream Pie at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls, TX. They love participating in outdoor activities and just being outside as much as possible, whether that’s gardening or at the lake with their 16 month old Golden Retriever, Mikey. They’re son is grown and lives up north, but Mikey is their baby. He enjoys going to the lake with them, eating strawberries, and swimming.
The encouragement and positivity that exudes off of them is contagious and we are so happy that they choose to spend their time volunteering here to help us and help our animals.
“They’re willing to do anything to help us out no matter how big or small the task is”, Monica includes.
We are all very thankful to have Jen and Gregg as a part of our TXHH pack.
