Texas Humane Heroes is a proud supporter of the Pets for Patriots program. The adoption fee is waived for service members and veterans who rescue a qualifying pet from Texas Humane Heroes. Eligible pets are two years or older, special needs and large dogs (40+ pounds at the time of adoption), regardless of age.

Pets for Patriots’ mission is to consistently give the gifts of fidelity, joy and companionship to both pet and person through honorable companion pet adoption.

To ease the financial costs associated with pet ownership, Pets for Patriots partners with veterinarians to deliver a minimum 10% discount for the life of the adopted pet’s care. The program also provides access to additional cost reductions for pet basics, such as food, toys and essential supplies.
