Does your chili make people cheer? Are your spices spectacular? Does your recipe rock? Show us what you’ve got! Take the chili challenge and enter the Texas Humane Heroes Sixth Annual Chili Cookoff!
On Saturday, February 21, chefs from far and wide will bring pots brimming with their personal chili masterpieces to our Leander Adoption Center. What will take place next — from 1 to 3 p.m. — is a competition that will live in infamy (or at least until the Seventh Annual Chili Cookoff). The best part? The entry fee is only $30 and there are great prizes for the top three vote-getters.
And how are votes cast? By taste testers who attend the Cookoff as judges. To qualify as a judge, simply bring the $10 entry fee ($5 for kids 10 and younger) and your love for all-you-can-eat chili and soft drinks! And for the grown-ups, beer is also available (donations are appreciated).
Don’t forget your canine four-legged companions. Vaccinated and leashed pooches are welcome to attend with you! Or if you don’t have a furry friend, we’ve got you covered! Check out our animals available for adoption and you may go home with more than a full belly!
