Ready Fur Love: Chief’s Love Letter

Ready Fur Love

Hello! My name’s Chief, and I’m here to tell you about what a great dog I am. For starters, just look at me! I’m big and strong, just like my name implies, and I can rock handkerchiefs like no one’s business!

Okay, okay, now are you ready to learn more about me? I’ll turn four years old in December, so I’m still a young fella, still got a kick in my step, as they say! I do have a ghost injury on my back leg, a recovered torn ligament or something – if I get to excited and start jumping around it will bug me a bit, but I don’t let it stop me from making every day an adventure!

That’s right, I’m an adventurous guy with plenty of energy for hikes and trips to the lake! My ideal human is active, friendly, and must love family time!

Speaking of family time, I have been homed with babies before, but it has been a while since that time, and I think I would now prefer teenagers who understand boundaries and such. Plus, as you know, I’m a big guy, so the little tykes might not be able to handle my strength! In the same home as before, there was also another dog, and we got along great! But again, it’s been a while, and I will admit that I can be a bit of a rough player, so I might be best as an only dog – at least for a while!

So, what do you think? Do I sound like a good addition to your family? If you want to meet with me to learn a little more, come on by Texas Humane Heroes’ Leander Adoption Center! Just remember the name–Chief! And be on the lookout for the studliest dog there (I’m lucky, my size grants me the privilege of being in one of the biggest kennels here).
